Right on the heels (or boot spurs?) of last weekend’s premiere of Canyon Candy, the psychedelic Western cinematization of Javelin’s 10 inch of the same name, we can’t wait to hear what other re-imaginings come out of this idiosyncratic cowboy music.
Tom says: “Most of the tracks were recorded to fast-running tape through a spring reverb, and then slowed down so the instruments get hollower and the voices more barrel-chested. My voice is the second voice to come in (‘saw an old friend…’) and I sound exactly like Leo Kotke, who describes his own voice as ‘duck farts on a warm night’.”
